Train with Faye Rielly:- AIPM Principal & AEP Assessor
|
A mentor guides, inspires, encourages, counsels,
advises, questions, and answers. The one-to-one relationship is the key to effectiveness in
mentoring. Faye’s relationship
with her students does not end upon completion of their
course. It enters an exciting new phase and remains constant throughout
the student’s career.
AIPM TRAINING IS 3 PHASED
& STRUCTURED TO PRODUCE OUTSTANDING GRADUATES!
PREPARATORY: Upon
booking, you will receive the theory component of your training. It is
presented in a 50 page book and packaged with a preparatory theory exam. We ask
students to read through and gain a basic understanding of the cosmetic tattoo
process and familiarise themselves with terminology and relevant health and
safety issues. The student presents their completed preparatory exam on
commencement of training. This forms the base from which a comprehensive
understanding of COSMETIC TATTOO theory is built upon in the following phases.
IN HOUSE: The second phase is 4 days,
one-on-one intensive training. You will progress from leather to working on
“live models”. You will be trained to use the most current,
tattooing techniques - including shading, feathering and natural hair strokes.
At the conclusion of the 4 days, the instructor will assess you and map out
your ongoing training. Assessment is conducted through completion of a
practical and a theory exam. Do not be alarmed as there is no automatic
failure. If you do not perform well in your assessment, your starting point
will be a little further back at the onset of the probation period.
*You will be issued with An AIPM Certificate of
Attendance so that you are able to secure your insurance prior to commencing
your real world experience.
REALWORLD/ PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Students
enter the probationary phase (approx 100 hours work experience) prior to final
qualifications being awarded.
This
work experience can be completed at our Gold Coast Institute or in your own
Salon/Clinic or a combination of both. Students not attending our Institute
must submit a photographic record of each treatment performed until competency
is demonstrated. The instructor will review every procedure and personally
provide positive feedback and advice. Students wishing to complete work
experience at our Institute can do so one day per fortnight. You will have the opportunity to observe
treatments and perform fully supervised treatments on clients. Locally
based students will need to bring their own models. You
will also be required to keep a photographic record. Your photo portfolio is your best advertising tool as well as providing
protection in a legal dispute. Photos are taken prior to procedure, after
design and drawing of procedure; after completion of procedure and when the
client returns for a retouch procedure.
GRADUATES: Upon successful completion of
probationary period, you receive your final qualifications.
You can
still avail yourself of our ongoing support and guidance. Faye provides all
students with her personal mobile contact, so that you can call on her 24/7. We
advise each graduate to commit to their ongoing education by attending
refresher training or workshops annually.
AIPM refresher training is tailored to suit the individual student.
|
STUDENTS BEWARE: The individual gets lost in the group environment. Competent, confident cosmetic tattoo practitioners do not emerge from group training environments. You will be working on a client’s face and your mistakes could be permanent. Your introduction to cosmetic tattoo should always be in a one-to-one setting. It should be conducted in an environment of trust and paced to suit you. You should feel free to ask questions and be comfortable to express personal concerns at any time during the training. There should be no pressure to perform. |
EDUCATION for
THE
INDIVIDUAL
SCHEDULES, BUDGET
& INTERESTS vary
and are as individual as you are. For this reason we have implemented a CHOICES PROGRAMME that allows you to design an education plan that is the perfect fit.
You decide which electives you wish to study and when you wish to study them. You will be trained one
on one so our focus will be on
you.
Modules are structured to stand alone, so that
a student is competent to perform treatments upon successful completion. Each
module addresses relevant health and safety issues and medical
contraindications.
As many of our students are keen to set
themselves up in business, our course curriculum has been designed accordingly. You will learn:
1.
The laws pertaining to the
safe practice of cosmetic tattoo in this Country – licenses, health and
safety regulations and National Certification.
2.
Indemnity, Consent and Medical
Issues. Students receive sample forms to duplicate
for own use.
3.
How to conduct initial consultation
and address all enquiries with confidence and professionalism.
4.
Client Screening – not all clients are suitable
candidates, so it is important to identify which are not.
5.
How to mix and match pigments to suit individual skin
tones.
6.
How to select shape and create
symmetry and balance to enhance the client’s features.
7.
How to limit client discomfort – the use of topical anesthetics and other pain
management techniques.
8.
TECHNIQUES, TECHNIQUES, TECHNIQES
– natural
hair strokes, fine lines, bold enhancement. Our students leave with a full
complement of techniques, so that they are equipped to offer both natural and
dramatic aesthetic effects.
9.
How to minimise bleeding and
swelling. Both impact greatly on the
treatment outcome.
10.
Pre and post care instructions.
Your manual will include a sample of handouts to provide your
client.
11.
Pricing – cosmetic tattoo is a very lucrative
venture. You will learn how to cost individual treatments and retouches if
required.
